The national news was a half hour. News was mostly read by the anchors. Reporters and anchors were most often white men in ties. Location production was 16mm film, some black and white. Footage was often repeated in several shows over several days. The editorial point of view was explicit in the reportage. Local coverage is often traffic reports. Yet the truth is revealed in the visuals. Live audio reports are heard throughout "Mayday Realtime" on the car radio.
